Vidic voted your top BPL footballer

The votes have been counted: Nemanja Vidic has been named ESPNSTAR's Barclays Premier League Player of the Season.
Overall Player of the Season: Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United)
After over four million votes, Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has come out on top as your Player of the Season with an impressive 33% of the votes. In a season where there was much chopping and changing in the United defence, Vidic remained an indomitable constant as the Red Devils claimed a record 19th league title.
Liverpool duo Luis Suarez (16%) and Pepe Reina (10%) finished second and third respectively in the voting.
Goalkeeper of the Season: Pepe Reina (Liverpool)
Pepe Reina's reputation as one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers has once again been proven to be true, as he came out on top as the best goalkeeper this season with 50% of the votes. Liverpool's backline has been decimated by injuries at times this season, but they still had the sixth-best defensive record in the league. Much credit has to go to Reina for that.
Special mention also has to be given to United's Edwin van der Sar who came close to pipping Reina to top spot with 44%.
Reina also came in third as overall player of the season.
Defender of the Season: Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United)
Along with his triumph as the overall Player of the Season, Vidic also claimed the honours as your Defender of the Year with 42% of the votes cast.
Many of you also recognised Vincent Kompany's outstanding season at Manchester City with 35% of the votes, while Everton's Leighton Baines was third with 9%.
Midfielder of the Season: Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
While there were other worthy contenders like Blackpool's Charlie Adam and Arsenal's Samir Nasri, the voters have decided to reward Gareth Bale's outstanding season by naming him Midfielder of the Season. Bale's blistering runs down the left wing has put many defences to the sword, coupled with his delicious deliveries, as he claimed 47% of your votes.
Nemanja Vidic

Adam was Bale's closest challenger in second place with 22% of the votes, while Nasri finished in third with 15%.
Striker of the Season: Luis Suarez (Liverpool)
After only half a season in English football, Luis Suarez has already lit the Premier League with his breathtaking displays, and the voters certainly felt so too. Suarez claimed more than half the votes cast for Striker of the Season, comfortably beating Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov who was second with 33%.
